Called

Yesterday, when the Lord called Abram, he obeyed. Today, when the Lord calls, people have to check their calendars and see if it is convenient. Perhaps the kids have an activity we have to go to or, I am just too tired to answer that call right now. The Lord calls, but He will soon hang up.

I have frequently heard many people say the lord has called me to do this or that or I have heard them say phrases like “this is my calling” of course I know this is not a literal verbal calling but how do you know what you are called to do or what your calling is. For example could I say it was my calling to be a mother??? ( I hope this is not a dumb question ) 😊

Not a dumb question. Because people use the phrase frequently, many are curious as to what it means. Two things to remember: 1) the Lord calls via His Gospel message; this is something you can KNOW (2 Thess. 2:14). 2) Everything else is a GUESS or a want-to-happen belief.
