The Seed - Luke 8:11

Salvation. The significance of God’s word to people can’t be underscored enough. It is man’s only hope. As he fabricates his hope, a hope that gets him through his darkest days, the Lord Jesus offer man the only hope available that gets him through his darkest days AND transports him into the arms and comfort of God.

Edification. While here on earth, long before we arrive to our desired destination (heaven), we must be educated in the ways of God. It was Jesus who said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life,” meaning there is no other way that Him. Sometimes, however, we feel as if His words are not helpful to our situation or circumstance; have we allowed His Word to build us up to the point that when we are knocked down (for we surely will be), we won’t fall so far as to be buried? Allow the word of God to build you up, to elevate your life to where it can (and should) be.

Eternity. Allow the Word to edify, teach you, building you up to where it can be, enjoying the promise of eternity in the Lord “house.” When Jesus said He was the way, the truth and the life, it is the word “life” that is the destination.

Dead to sin. Since the Lord’s life is our destiny, we must choose to be dead to sin. This begins with our decision to take the Lord’s path and make it our own. Having made that decision, we also choose to be identified with Him in His death, burial, and resurrection (Romans 6:3-7).

God’s Seed, His Word, the Gospel. Paul was not ashamed up it, and neither let us be.
